Before becoming General Manager for the defense-market-focused composites division of Nammo AS, a prominent Norwegian company, Hawes spearheaded business development at Nammo Composite Solutions. Under his leadership, the Utah operation achieved remarkable growth, earning the prestigious Sales and Marketer of the Year award from Utah Business Magazine.
Hawes embarked on his professional journey in the textile industry at Quaker Fabric after completing his education at Bryant University. He gained a solid foundation in textiles and advanced composites during this period. His passion for carbon fiber led him to Fiber Innovations Inc., where he played a significant role in resin transfer molded (RTM) composite manufacturing, establishing himself as a notable figure in the industry.
As the creator of the carbon fiber podcast and newsletter Cyber Carbon Fiber, Hawes has contributed articles to respected publications such as Fast Company, JEC Magazine, and Industrial Internet of Things World.
